Mahogany dial timepiece
circa 1900

A four pillar single fusee movement with anchor escapement and 10 inch white painted Roman numeral dial signed 'W. E. Watts & Co. Ltd., Stokes Croft' - BRISTOL. with an ogee moulded surround and salt box type case with side door and pendulum adjustment flap to the curved base, 37cm diameter.

W E Watts and Co. Ltd. are recorded in Moore A J 'The Clockmakers of Bristol 1650-1900' as working from Stokes Croft, Bristol circa 1899.

The lower image to the right shows some sweep marks to the dial, which is in otherwise relatively good condition. The case is sound but with very minor paint spots to the surround and case.

Overall this timepiece is in good condition and working to a fairly accurate level.
