The Private Antiques
Buyer If you are seeking unique pieces of furniture or decorative items for your home tell us about the items you are looking for, we'll search our database to find those who are most likely to have in stock what you require, a decorative specialist perhaps, farmhouse tables, side tables, armoires or architectural items are just a few examples of what our contacts have to offer you. Or if you are not sure exactly what you want but would like to experience and simply browse at leisure some of the best antiques towns and villages that England has, and maybe pick-up a bargain or two at the same time, we'll create an itinerary just for you. We'll introduce you to some of our contacts in whom we have come to trust in their knowledge and integrity, who in most cases their businesses have been established for many years and are backed by membership of a local or national antiques association. For example we'll visit dealers based in some of the unique and beautiful Cotswold towns of Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh and Tetbury to name just a few. We'll also visit others who are off the beaten track and simply do not offer themselves to passing trade and as a consequence are usually open by appointment only. Our tours also frequently take us deep into the Somerset countryside to visit a small collection of dealers based in a fine country house and another just a few miles away who travels the UK every week to source a wide range of items. Before your visit if you are searching for specific items we'll regularly update you by email with information as possible pieces that could appeal to you come to our notice, we'll ask you to eliminate those items that are not of interest, this quickly creates a list of items for 'Preferred Viewing' and helps us to establish an itinerary for your visit that we can get to work on from the minute we meet up. But here's a couple of tips for those items high on your shopping list, create a picture in your mind of what you want, take measurements in your home of where the piece will live and imagine how it could look, and most importantly if the item you are seeking is quite large, are the access ways to where it will stand all suitable? Many of our private clients choose to incorporate a few days antiques buying as part of a vacation to England and allow a few days in say London for some sightseeing before our tour starts. However, whilst your time with us will have a full antiques schedule, you could if you wanted incorporate a half-day out to enjoy some of the local scenery or visit a nearby garden. We have loads of ideas to tempt you and advise you how we can best fit in these extra visits to your tour in our Antiques Plus section from the link in the top left-hand margin of this page Our objective is for your visit to be enjoyable and stress free, our scheduling will be comprehensive but not overwhelming as we want you to focus on the items you are considering buying for your home and let us concentrate on the driving and anything else that needs attention at the time, even down to something simple but equally important such as taking a break for lunch. Though we think we've got this covered, rather than wasting valuable time with cafes or sandwich shops we'll bring a packed lunch with us if you would like us to. Each day of your tour needs to conclude with comfortable accommodation, allowing you to reflect on the day's viewings if decisions are still to be made. As you will see in our Hotels section we will offer you a choice of country pubs, hotels or B&B's some of which are in real 'Olde Worlde' surroundings and will conveniently fit into your schedule, allowing you to continue refreshed the next morning. As mentioned on our Home Page our tours are far from finished when you return home, we'll continue to work personally with you, the dealers you have bought from and our shippers, ensuring all goods are collected quickly and prepared for export. As you will see from the link on the top left of this page we work closely with a local company who have an excellent reputation of shipping for the antiques trade in Britain and will take care of everything including final delivery to your home. Why not contact us today to discuss your visit to Great Britain, we promise there will be no sales talk or any obligation whatsoever. As mentioned on our Home Page we suggest that your tour should be over three days minimum and our initial discussions will be to establish quickly how we can help you to get the best from your visit. Our Contacts Page offers various ways to get in touch and we'll be delighted to hear from you today, please CLICK HERE. |
