The Professional Antiques
Buyer Why not contact us today to discuss your next visit to Britain? Tell us about the items you are looking for, we'll search our database to find those who are most likely to have in stock what you require, a specialist perhaps in decorative pieces, farmhouse tables or architectural items are just a few examples of our contacts. Several of our regular calls are primarily trade only so you can be sure of excellent, knowledgeable service from someone whose business and integrity is in most cases backed-up by membership of a local or national antiques association. Before your visit we will regularly update you with information of possible pieces that could appeal to you by email, asking you to eliminate those items that are not of interest, this quickly creates a list of items for 'Preferred Viewing' and helps us to establish an itinerary for your visit that we can get to work on from the minute you arrive. As our route becomes established we'll also search to find any auction sales that are relative to your needs in the area. Usually sales lists are posted on auctioneers web sites a couple of weeks in advance of the sale. This will give you the opportunity to highlight any particular items for viewing and visit them in person if you want to and register absentee bids so your visit can continue without wasting valuable time. Whichever airport you arrive at in Britain you can be sure I'll be there to meet you and we'll be on the road just as quickly as possible. From the itinerary that we we have previously agreed, you can be sure that our days will have a full schedule. Many of our contacts offer appointments allowing us to work with them outside normal trading hours, and as we build our programme for each day we'll be in touch with all prime contacts to reserve your meeting, and when we are on the road if our day starts to over-run we'll phone ahead and re-schedule as necessary on your behalf. Quite possibly you'll already have contacts that you want to call on from from previous visits to Britain, wherever these may be located we'll be pleased to integrate them into your tour and quite possibly introduce you to others from our database. Our objective is for your visit to be smooth and stress free, we want you to concentrate solely on the items you are considering buying for your business and let us concentrate on the driving and anything else that needs attention at the time, even down to something simple but equally important such as taking a break for lunch. Though we think we've got this covered, rather than wasting valuable time with cafes or sandwich shops we'll bring a packed lunch with us. Each day of your visit needs to conclude with adequate hospitality, allowing you to comfortably reflect on the day's viewings if decisions are still to be made. As you will see in our Hotels section we will offer you a choice of accommodations which will conveniently fit into your schedule, allowing you to continue refreshed the next morning. As mentioned on our Home Page our tours are far from finished when you return home, we'll continue to work closely with you, the dealers you have bought from and shippers, ensuring all goods are collected quickly and prepared for export. As you will see from the link on the top left of this page we work closely with a local company who have an excellent reputation of shipping for the antiques trade in Britain, but should you have a preferred alternative then we will be pleased to liaise similarly with them. |
